WINE COUNTRY RETREAT
No longer content with just visiting California’s Wine Country, two couples sought to become residents in the region. Together, they envisioned a dream vacation home with a landscape that both soothed and pampered, as well as provided ample space for friends and family to enjoy.
With dining and lounge spaces beneath the home’s loggia, the landscape opens to an L-shaped lawn terrace with poured in place concrete pavers. Raised planters bordering the terrace are just the right height for casual seating to take in the vistas. Two broad steps lead down to the pool terrace where a rough-sawn cedar pergola provides respite from the sun and views of the hills and vineyards.
