THE BACKYARD COTTAGE GARDEN
Their crumbling old detached garage was in the perfect spot for a new backyard cottage, where the homeowners could host family and friends visiting from out of town. The ADU’s construction was also the perfect opportunity to re-think the whole yard.
Synthetic turf replaces the thirsty lawn, and new low-maintenance plantings invite pollinators into the vegetable garden. Lastly, a 2-post arbor at the deck provides much-needed respite from the late afternoon sun.
